The Field of Sixty-four Has Been Whittled Down to Eight - And We're Still Dancin!!

Our Elite Eight game against the top-seeded Irish is on ESPN2 at 6PM at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago.

I had a clear vision in the shower yesterday morning. Stanford would come back from one of their poorest offensive performances against the Missouri Lady Bears to play one of their best against the Fighting Irish. They'll shoot their 3's in the mid-forties and their passing, screening, and cutting will be crisp and effective. Alanna, Kiana, and DiJonai will total more points than the whole team scored against the Bears. Besides hitting their threes, the whole team will use great ball-fakes, when the defense flies at them, to one or two dribble moves to pull-up jumpers, or to great dishes to post-players, or cutting teammates.

Our defense will be even better than it was on Saturday or against Oregon in the PAC12 Championship game - and our rebounding will be even better than it was on Saturday. In other words, our game this afternoon in Chicago will be our best game of the year - so far.

The defending national champs are better this year than last. Arike Ogunbowale is more dangerous than ever. Jessica Shepard, their 6'-4" post player is strong and highly effective. Jackie Young is one of the most improved players in the country. Brianna Turner is terrifically athletic. And Marina Mabury is an incredible shooter. That's why it will be so much fun to beat Notre Dame and then head on down to Tampa for the Final Four.

Anyway, that's my vision - and I'm sticking with it. GO CARDINAL!!!!
